Curiosity shapes spatial exploration and cognitive map formation in humans
D. Cen, E. Teichert, et al.
Combining a virtual reality task with measures of exploration complexity, research conducted by Danlu Cen, Eva Teichert, Carl J. Hodgetts, and Matthias J. Gruber shows that pre-exploration curiosity predicts how much people explore, visual exploration predicts post-exploration interest, and Stress Tolerance modulates the curiosity–exploration link, together shaping the precision of cognitive maps as measured by sketch maps.
