Abstract
This paper investigates the impact of cultural inclusivity on corporate social responsibility (CSR) in China. The study finds a significant positive correlation between higher cultural inclusivity and increased CSR activities, particularly in larger firms, state-owned enterprises, and firms with high board independence. Using natural disasters as an instrumental variable, the authors address endogeneity concerns and demonstrate a causal relationship. The mechanism analysis reveals that cultural inclusivity promotes CSR by fostering "gender equality" and mitigating the "power gap" within regions.
