Abstract
This study addresses the limitations of Holland's RIASEC model in the context of contemporary China and the digital age. It proposes a nine-type vocational interest model for China, incorporating Technological and Powerful types alongside revised versions of existing RIASEC categories. A new vocational interest scale was developed and validated using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis with a sample of Chinese middle school students. The scale provides a measurement tool for educational choice and career counseling in China.
