Abstract

This article explores Citizen Social Science (CSS) through a case study: the Empty Houses Project. The project investigated citizen data collection on empty houses to address a policy issue. The study reveals that CSS surpasses the prevalent view of it as mere data repository creation; instead, it demonstrates how CSS data embodies epistemology and politics, not solely serving as a realist analytical tool.
