This paper reports single crystals of a dibenzoate derivative that can self-heal within milliseconds via autonomous actuation. Experiments determined the limits of mechanical forces the crystals can withstand. The self-healed crystals retain their second harmonic generation (SHG) with high efficiency. Kinematic analysis revealed millisecond actuation response times.
