Abstract
This study investigates the impact of home and neighborhood environments ('first place') and online social spaces ('online third places') on the well-being of Malaysian seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a mixed-methods approach with 500 older adults and in-depth interviews with seven neighborhood leaders, the study found a positive correlation between housing and neighborhood satisfaction and life satisfaction. However, most online third places, except instant messaging apps, showed limited impact on life satisfaction.
