This paper proposes a model to understand and foster transcendent happiness among employees in the tourism industry, specifically in rural accommodations in Spain. Three factors—corporate culture, internal communication, and employee-centered personnel management—are hypothesized as determinants of transcendent happiness. Using a sample of 443 employees and structural equation modeling (SEM-PLS), the study finds that organizational culture significantly impacts both personnel management and employee happiness, while internal communication mediates the relationship between personnel management and transcendent happiness. The study highlights the importance of organizational culture, internal communication, and passion at work in achieving transcendent happiness.
