Abstract
This research develops an integrated agent-based model to analyze the impact of memory biases and mood disorders on social performance. The model incorporates various traits like loneliness, interaction drive, memory, and mood biases within rational, manic, depressed, and bipolar agents. Simulations using an iterated Continuous Prisoner's Dilemma game reveal that manic agents outperform rational agents, while depressed agents perform significantly worse. Memory strength positively correlates with performance, and emotional bias influences payoffs differently across agent types. Mood dependence also shows varying effects depending on the agent type.
