This paper presents a self-consistent theory for the electrical characteristics of nanofluidic systems used in water desalination and energy harvesting. The theory provides simple expressions for ohmic conductance, zero-voltage current, and zero-current voltage, offering insights into the underlying physics and enabling improved system design. The model is validated against numerical simulations, showing remarkable agreement.
