This study explores the spillover effects of China’s long-term climate mitigation pathways (CMPs) on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using national-scale integrated modeling. The analysis identifies a cost-effective CMP that maximizes synergies between carbon neutrality and long-term sustainable development, addressing trade-offs among sustainability, CO2 emissions, and mitigation costs. The findings suggest that effective climate mitigation policies can substantially boost SDG achievement.
