This article investigates the role of the Web of Science (WOS) in managing knowledge within academia, focusing on cultural heritage research in the humanities. A bibliometric analysis of 1843 WOS-indexed journal articles (2003-2022) reveals a Eurocentric bias in the research, correlating with increased European research funding. While publication output has grown significantly, it's concentrated in a few European institutions and countries, authored by a small number of prolific researchers with limited cross-national collaboration. Key themes emerging reflect the influence of digital technologies and participatory approaches in cultural heritage care.
