WFSA Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowships 2025
The University of Nairobi, in collaboration with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), is offering up to three 12-month Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship positions starting in September/October 2025.
๐ About WFSA Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowships
Fellows will be based at the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi and will rotate through various hospitals with active paediatric surgical programs. The fellowship includes a robust didactic teaching program with an online learning platform facilitated by experts from around the world.

โ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Support from National Anaesthesiology Society: Must be supported by their national anaesthesiology society, which must be a member society of the WFSA.
- Support from Head of Department or Hospital Management: Must have a recommendation from their head of department or hospital management.
- Commitment to Return: Must return to their home country to a recognized post.
- Teaching Hospital Experience: Ideally, applicants should be working in a teaching hospital.

- Complete the application form and upload the required documents.
Required Documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): Include a recent photo and the names of two referees.
- Recommendation Letters:
- From the applicantโs national anaesthesiology society.
- From the applicantโs head of department or hospital management.
- Copies of Qualifications:
- Medical degree.
- Specialist anaesthesiology qualification.
- Passport: Copy of the photograph page.
Additional Application via University of Nairobi (UoN):
Applicants must also complete the UoN application process and provide the following documentation:
- Filled online application form (available on the UoN application portal).
- Certified copies of:
- Undergraduate medical degree.
- Specialization in Anaesthesia.
- Transcripts for both undergraduate and anaesthesia degrees.
- Verification of degrees/transcripts not obtained in Kenya by the Kenya Commission for University Education.
- Certified high school certificates verified by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority or Kenya National Examinations Council.
- Letter/certificate of good standing from the registering authority in your country.
- Valid police clearance from your country of residence (before arrival).
- Evidence of:
- Yellow fever vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination
Note: All documents not in English must be officially translated into English by a recognized translation service. The UoN application process is stringent, and incomplete documentation will result in disqualification.
