• PhD Researchers with permanent or temporary employment, from home or abroad, are eligible.
• The 2025 Veni round is open to researchers with a PhD date between January 1, 2022, and September 2, 2025.

• Pre-proposal submission deadline: September 2, 2025, by 14:00:00 CEST.
• Full application submission deadline: January 27, 2026, before 14:00:00 CET.

Application Steps:

1. Pre-proposal Submission:

   • Applicants must submit a pre-proposal where the ‘quality of the researcher’ (100%) is assessed.
   • A positive decision on the pre-proposal allows the applicant to proceed to the full application stage.
   • A negative decision on the pre-proposal disqualifies the applicant from submitting a full proposal.

2. Full Application Submission:

   • The full proposal is assessed based on the following criteria:
     • Quality and innovative character of the research proposal (75%)
     • Scientific and/or societal impact (25%)
