🎁 Benefits of TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship

• Monthly Stipend:
  Provided by the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences to cover living costs and food. Note that the stipend is not convertible into foreign currency.
• Accommodation:
  Free on-campus accommodation is provided.
• Medical Coverage:
  • Partial reimbursement for doctor's fees and medicine costs incurred in Kolkata, as per the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).
  • Fellows must have their own comprehensive medical insurance to cover emergencies.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be 35 years old or younger on December 31 of the application year.
• Be nationals of a developing country (excluding India).
• Must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in India or any developed country.
• Hold a Master’s Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics, with at least 5 years of undergraduate and postgraduate studies from a recognized university or institute.
• Be accepted by a department of the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences.
  • Applicants must visit the Centre's website to identify a potential supervisor and contact them.
  • Requests for acceptance must be directed to the Dean (Academic Programme) via email at deanap@bose.res.in.
  • Applicants must complete the SNB FORM and submit it along with their CV to request an Acceptance Letter.
• Provide evidence of English proficiency if the medium of education was not English.
• Commit to returning to their home country upon completion of the fellowship.
• Must not take up other assignments during the fellowship period.
• Be financially responsible for any accompanying family members.

📅 Application Date and Process

• Deadline: September 22, 2025
• Applicants must submit an Acceptance Letter from a department of the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences by the application deadline. Applications without preliminary acceptance will not be considered.
• Applications can only be submitted via the online portal.
• Applicants may apply for only one program per calendar year in the TWAS and OWSD portfolio.
