β Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the TWAS Fellowships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold at least an MSc or equivalent degree.
- Be a young scientist working in any area of natural sciences.
- Be a citizen of a developing country and employed by a research institution in a developing country.
- No age limit, but preference is given to:
- Young scientists at the beginning of their research careers.
- Applicants from Least Developed Countries.
- Host institutions must be located in a developing country.
- Exclusions:
- Institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, are not eligible host institutions under this program.
- Applicants interested in CAS institutes should consider alternative programs like the CAS-TWAS Presidentβs Postgraduate Fellowship Programme or the CAS Fellowships for Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholars from Developing Countries.
- Institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, are not eligible host institutions under this program.
π Application Process
Applicants must complete the online application form and upload the following documents:
- Scanned copy of your passport (even if expired, showing your name and surname).
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum 5 pages, including publications).
- Supporting Statement from the Head of your Home Institution.
- Two reference letters from senior scientists familiar with your work.
(Note: The Head of your Home Institution cannot be one of your referees.) - MSc certificate and relevant university transcripts.
- Official invitation letter from the Head of the Host Institute.
