This opportunity provides funding for up to a maximum of two years and includes events to enhance academic and leadership skills.

The Tom Queba and Pegasys Scholarships for Social Change aim to support scholars who demonstrate the potential to drive change towards just and equitable civil societies. The scholarship focuses on studies that contribute directly to social and/or environmental development, particularly improving the lives and livelihoods of the poorest people in South Africa.

- Scholarship Value: R85,000 in 2026.
- Funding is available for up to two years for both full-time and part-time study. Distance learning applications are also considered.

- Scholarship holders are expected to actively participate in these activities and contribute to the network.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a black or coloured South African national, as defined by South African BEE law, and reside in South Africa.
- Be under 34 years of age at the start of the course.
- Hold a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division, or equivalent) or be about to graduate in the year of application.
- Be studying or applying to study at Honours or Masters level at a South African university.

- Interviews: Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in October/November 2025.
- Outcome Notification: Applicants will be informed of the results in December 2025.
