✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Interest or Background: Candidates should have a demonstrated interest or background in journalism, tech policy, media, AI, or related fields. A commitment to producing high-quality, public-interest work during the fellowship is essential.
- Preferred Experience: Journalism experience is preferred. However, researchers, lawyers, technologists, and public policy professionals looking to transition into journalism are also encouraged to apply.
- Location:
- This is a UK-based fellowship, and all candidates must be eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Note: openDemocracy will not provide support or sponsorship for a work visa.
- London-Proximate Candidates: Candidates based near London are preferred to facilitate attendance at meetings and building sources. Those based outside London should explain how they can make their location work in their cover letter.
