📝 Application Date and Process

Required Documents:

  1. Full, official university academic record (from 1st year of study, including final year or midyear 2025 results).
  2. Official undergraduate university student account statement or official letter for NSFAS funding for undergraduate study fees.
  3. Certified ID copy (certified within 3 months of application submission).
  4. Testimonial from a lecturer or proposed supervisor (for Master's and Doctoral students).
  5. Draft proposal:
    • Master's applicants: No longer than 2 pages.
    • Doctoral applicants: No longer than 4 pages.
  6. All proposals must be signed and dated by the applicant and their proposed supervisor.

Important Notes:

  • Incomplete applications (missing documents) will not be considered.
  • Encrypted or password-protected documents will result in an incomplete application.
  • Only applicants studying towards relevant science qualifications will be considered.
  • Applicants must have an academic average of 65% or higher for their last year of studies or last examination.
  • Applicants must be 32 years or younger to be eligible for funding.
