📝 Application Process

Accessing SESAME

Applications must be submitted via SESAME, which requires login details. Follow these steps:

1. For Registered Users:

   • Log in using your existing email address.
   • Enter the verification code sent to your email. If you do not receive the email within 5 minutes, check your spam/junk folder.
   • If you encounter login issues, email sesame@researchireland.ie (for login issues only).

2. Forgotten Password:

   • Use the "Forgot Password" functionality to reset your password.

3. For New Users:

   • If you are from an Eligible Research Body but not registered on SESAME, contact the Research Office in your institution to be registered.
   • If you are from an Other Body and not previously registered, email the following details to discover.programme@researchireland.ie:
     • Project Lead Name
     • Email Address
     • Registered Company Name
     • Legal Status (e.g., company limited by guarantee, limited company, charity, etc.)
     • Trading Name
     • VAT Number

Important Notes

• SESAME is accessible online without additional software installation. Ensure your browser and internet infrastructure (e.g., pop-up blockers, firewalls) allow access.
• Draft applications can be amended multiple times but cannot be modified after submission.
• Once submitted, applications cannot be withdrawn or resubmitted for the same call.
• Early submission is strongly recommended to avoid last-minute technical issues.
• The "Submit" button will deactivate at the deadline, and late entries will not be accepted.
