  • Maintenance grants provided by the U.S. Department of State
• Grants are awarded for a period of one or two semesters (5 or 9 months) for post-doctoral applicants.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Fulbright Scholar Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold a doctoral degree.
• Demonstrate proficiency in English appropriate for the proposed research project in the United States.
• Provide a detailed statement of proposed activity for research at a U.S. institution.
• Be a citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia and employed in North Macedonia.

❌ Ineligibility Criteria

Applicants will not be considered if they:

• Have received a Fulbright Scholarship within the past five years.
• Hold permanent residence in the United States.
• Are citizens of both North Macedonia and the United States.
• Are employees of the U.S. Embassy or their immediate family members.

📝 Application Process

A complete application must include the following:

1. Application form.
2. Detailed statement of proposed activity.
3. Detailed curriculum vitae.
4. Three references.
5. A copy of the bio page of your passport (and dependents’ passports if they plan to accompany you).
6. Copy of doctoral degree with translation into English.
7. Letter from employer confirming employment.
8. Letter of invitation or appointment from a U.S. institution.
