🧪 Project Overview

This project focuses on the musculoskeletal and energy metabolism outcomes of a behavioral change intervention for weight loss. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of an audio/visual online coaching program leveraging digital health technologies. This will be compared with community dietetic assessment and dietary support.

Sub-Studies:

  • Stipend: £20,780 for 2025/26 (Research Council minimum rate set by UKRI).

🎯 Responsibilities

As part of this project, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead a randomized controlled trial, including participant recruitment and coordination of laboratory assessments.
  • Produce original research outputs for publication in medical journals.
  • Master cutting-edge laboratory assessments of health and imaging using 3 Tesla MRI scanning.
  • Collaborate with clinical experts, patient groups, and attend conferences to develop specialist knowledge and skills.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated candidates with a strong background in:

  • Allied health (e.g., physiotherapy, dietetics)
  • Exercise sciences
  • Biomedical sciences
  • Neuroscience or similar disciplines

Ideal Candidate Should Have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with physiological assessments in research or clinical environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Core Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and clinical guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
