✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be full-time journalists, either on staff or freelance. Part-time writers or producers are not eligible.
  • Have at least three consecutive years of experience covering science, health, technology, or environmental reporting.
  • Must not have completed a fellowship of four months or longer during the two years prior to applying for this program.
  • Be professionals such as:
    • Reporters
    • Writers
    • Editors
    • Producers
    • Illustrators
    • Filmmakers
    • Photojournalists
      This includes work for newspapers, magazines, television, radio, and digital media.

📅 Application Date and Process

Required Documents:

  1. Statement of Purpose (≤500 words).
  2. Career Summary (≤200 words).
  3. Resume/CV (including freelance work, if applicable).
  4. Research Project Proposal (≤500 words).
  5. Three work samples (with translations if not in English).
  6. Three professional references (letters requested via Submittable).
