The International Student Leadership Award (ISLA), formerly known as the International Secondary School Merit Scholarship (ISSMS), is designed for undergraduate international students enrolling in a post-secondary institution for the first time.

Key Details:

• Eligibility: Students starting their first year of a full-time 4-year (or 5-year co-op) undergraduate degree at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).
• Fees: Applicants must pay international student fees.
• Focus: The award recognizes students who excel academically, volunteer, participate in clubs, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

• Value: $10,000 CAD for up to 53 recipients.
• Type: Entrance-only and non-renewable.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the ISLA, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be an international student starting their first year of a Canadian post-secondary institution on a full-time basis.
• Be required to pay international tuition fees.
• Have a final admission average of at least 86%, A, or an equivalent.
• Submit a personal statement.
• If a gap year was taken, it must be no longer than one academic year.
