🌟 About Concordia University IBET Momentum Fellowship

The Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia University is deeply committed to fostering diversity within the engineering and technology sector. This fellowship aims to increase the representation and active involvement of Indigenous and Black communities in these fields.

💰 Benefits of the Fellowship

  • Funding: Two recipients per year will receive $35,000 per year for four years.
  • Mentorship: Recipients will have the support of an IBET mentor as they pursue doctorate degrees and specialized engineering research.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Group Membership:

    • Indigenous students from Indigenous communities and nations in Canada and the U.S.
    • Black Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (African-Canadian, Caribbean-Canadian, or Afro-Caribbean heritage). If no Canadian candidates are presented, eligibility may extend to Black U.S. and international students.
    • Be registered with NouLA Centre.
  2. Academic Requirements:

    • Meet the admission requirements of a PhD program in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science.
    • Maintain full-time status and good academic standing while enrolled in the PhD program.

📅 Application Date and Process

  • Automatic Consideration: Students are automatically considered for this award at the time of admission; no additional application is required.

Nomination Process:

To nominate a student, the Department should send the following to the Graduate Program Director:

  • Nomination letter from the supervisor(s)
  • Updated CV of the nominee
  • Transcripts
  • Reference letters
  • Other evidence of academic excellence
