The Culinary Lens Fellowship 2026 is a research fellowship launched by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode through its IndiaโJapan Centre on Climate and Culture, in collaboration with the Vrihi Foundation. This fellowship supports interdisciplinary research exploring the food history of the Indian subcontinent through the lens of small, informal food businesses and street food markets.

Payment Schedule:

๐ Eligibility Criteria
Academic Requirements:
- Candidates pursuing a masterโs degree in Sociology, Anthropology, or other relevant social science disciplines, or Urban Planning.
Skills and Interests:
- Strong competence in qualitative methods, particularly in-depth interviews.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of sociological theory.
- Interest in the sociology of food and eating, urban planning, and migration.
- Interest in food culture and food practices.
- Proficiency in audio/video documenting.
- Relevant work experience, such as conducting qualitative research projects.
- Curious mindset and ability to work independently.
- Good cooperation skills.
