The ICGEB-SAWBP PhD Fellowship Scheme, in partnership with the South African Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, aims to promote the interaction and mobility of South African women researchers in Biotechnology. The program includes opportunities to visit other ICGEB Components in Trieste, Italy, and New Delhi, India.

π Benefits of the Fellowship
- Duration: 3 years
- Tuition Fees: Covered at the University of Cape Town
- Stipend: ZAR 219,749.00 per year
- The stipend will be provided after the deduction of tuition fees.
- Mobility Support: Additional funding to visit ICGEB Components in Trieste, Italy, and New Delhi, India.
β Eligibility Criteria
- Gender: Female applicants only.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen or South African Permanent Resident with a valid South African ID.
- Preference: Priority will be given to Black and disabled applicants.

- Detailed project proposal
- Letter of endorsement from an ICGEB Cape Town Group Leader
- Proof of MSc degree or a letter confirming the intention to submit MSc thesis from your supervisor
- Note: Proof of MSc degree is required before commencing the fellowship.
