The Green RISE East Africa Fellowship is an initiative by Acumen Academy aimed at supporting climate-focused social entrepreneurs in East Africa. Fellows will gain access to impactful learning, a supportive community, and opportunities to accelerate their growth.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Enterprise Leadership: Lead an enterprise that provides green-focused goods or services, solves poverty-related problems, and creates work opportunities for young rural women and youth (below 35 years old).
- Work opportunities can include full-time employment, part-time or seasonal work, or income-generating opportunities for micro/nanopreneurs within the value chain.
- Must have a minimum of 5 full-time employees.
Traction: Demonstrable traction over the last 12 months.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a commitment to solving poverty-related issues.
Location: Based and operating in East Africa (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda).
Sustainability: Evidence of leadership efforts to make the enterprise more environmentally sustainable and inclusive.
Availability: Reliable internet connection and full availability to participate throughout the program.
