βœ… Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship of a participating country: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.
  • Under the age of 30 at the start of the scholarship (January 1, 2026).
  • Hold a university degree.
  • Good knowledge of German (at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
  • Demonstrated interest in politics and social/political engagement.

Your application must include the following documents:

  1. Recent language certificate.
  2. Letter of motivation (in German, max. two pages, signed personally).
  3. Copy of passport or identity card as proof of citizenship of a participant country.
  4. University degree certificate (original or certified copy in English or German).
  5. Letter of recommendation (in German or English) from a professor, teacher, or employer assessing your suitability for the IPS programme.
