π About
The Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships provide a framework for established academics with an international reputation to pursue their research at the European University Institute (EUI). Fellowships last for up to ten months in one of the EUI's four departments, which invite fellows to participate in departmental activities such as seminars, workshops, and colloquia.

- Monthly stipend of β¬3,000. (Applicants residing within 90 km of Florence will receive a lower stipend.)

β Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements
- Open to established academics with an international reputation.
- Former professors or fellows of the EUI are eligible after three years have elapsed since their last contract with the EUI.
Nationality
- Candidates of all nationalities are eligible.
Languages
- Fellows should have a good knowledge of English and any other language relevant to their proposed research.
π Application Process
To apply, prepare the following documents:
- CV: A short CV (maximum 5 pages) including education, professional experience, prizes, and other major achievements. Include a selected list of publications (books, contributions to books, and major professional journals) in PDF format.
- Research Proposal: A proposal of 2-4 pages in PDF format.
- Identity Document: A copy of an identity document (passport or ID card) in JPG format. Proof of nationality will be processed only by the EUI Administration and will not be distributed to the EUI selection committee.

π Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an established academic with a strong international reputation, proficient in English, and capable of contributing to the academic environment at EUI through research, teaching, and participation in departmental activities.

- The monthly stipend is β¬ 3,000. The amount of the grant for successful applicants whose normal place of residence is within 90 km of Florence will be fixed at a lower rate.
- The EUI assists non-EU fellows with visa and residence requirements. Assistance can also be provided to their non-EU family members (i.e. spouses and children).
