The FAO–Hungarian Government Scholarship Programme provides fully funded postgraduate study opportunities in Hungary for young professionals.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be citizens and residents of one of the eligible countries.
Have excellent school achievements.
English language proficiency (for courses taught in English).
Motivation.
Good health.
Age: Candidates under 30 years are preferred.

Eligible Countries:

Residents (who must be nationals) of the following countries are eligible to apply:

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Myanmar, Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Nigeria, North Korea, Palestine, the Philippines, Republic of Cabo Verde, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen.

📝 Selection Process

The student selection process will take place in two phases:

Phase 1:

FAO will pre-screen candidates and submit applications to the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary, which will forward them to the corresponding university chosen by the applicants.
Only complete dossiers will be considered. Incomplete dossiers or files without names will not be processed.

Phase 2:

Selected candidates may be asked to take a written or oral English examination as part of the admission procedure.
The participating university will conduct a further selection process and inform successful candidates.
Student selection will be made solely by the universities, without involvement from FAO.
Selected students will be notified by the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary.
