✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Geographic Focus: Applicants must be from and cover Mekong countries: Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and/or Vietnam.
  • Group Applications: Groups of journalists are eligible, but the application must be submitted by a lead applicant who will communicate with EJN and receive funds on behalf of the group.
  • Language Requirement: Applications must be submitted in English. Applicants must have a working understanding of English or access to a translator for communication with Internews staff.
  • Professional Background:
    • Open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio).
    • Open to early-career journalists and experienced reporters with a track record of covering environmental issues.
    • Freelance reporters and staff from all types of media organizations (international, national, local, and community-based) are encouraged to apply.
  • Use of Generative AI: Applicants must disclose the use of generative AI tools, if any, in their applications. EJN reserves the right to disqualify applicants found to have engaged in unethical or improper professional conduct, including submitting content created entirely by generative AI.
