This contest invites participants to design a single-component cap that stands out in terms of usability, user experience, and functionality. The solution should:

  • Prevent accidental opening by children.
  • Be easy and intuitive for adults to use.
  • Reduce plastic usage and simplify existing solutions.
  • Incorporate innovative features or a multisensory approach to enhance user experience.

Key Principles for the Design:

  • Compatibility: Preferably compatible with bottles featuring a threaded neck.
  • Plastic Reduction: Minimize non-essential components and optimize design.
  • Simplified Design: Avoid complex structures to reduce costs and improve usability.
  • Ease of Recycling: Use a single component or easily separable parts.
  • Ease of Use and Accessibility: Include ergonomic features, visual/tactile indicators, and audible feedback (e.g., a "click" sound).
  • Cost Optimization: Efficient manufacturing and reduced secondary packaging.
  • Customization: Allow for branding or logo integration.
  • Airtight Seal: Ensure an airtight closure.

  • €5000 for the winning design.

Extra Award (Option Right Fee):

  • €2000 for the purchase of licenses for non-winning proposals that meet the Sponsor's criteria.

The selection of the winner will be based on originality, feasibility, and alignment with the contest brief.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to designers and creative talents of any nationality aged 18 years or older.
  • Participation is free of charge.
  • Participants may submit one or more projects.
  • Only projects uploaded on the Desall website through the contest's dedicated upload page will be accepted.
