A leading company, in collaboration with Desall, is seeking innovative designs for a cap that integrates a child-resistant safety system. This cap is intended for use in the personal care, cosmetics, and food sectors. The goal is to create a solution that prevents accidental opening by children while ensuring ease of use for adults.

📝 About the Contest

This contest invites participants to design a single-component cap that stands out in terms of usability, user experience, and functionality. The solution should:

Prevent accidental opening by children.
Be easy and intuitive for adults to use.
Reduce plastic usage and simplify existing solutions.
Incorporate innovative features or a multisensory approach to enhance user experience.

Key Principles for the Design:

Compatibility: Preferably compatible with bottles featuring a threaded neck.
Plastic Reduction: Minimize non-essential components and optimize design.
Simplified Design: Avoid complex structures to reduce costs and improve usability.
Ease of Recycling: Use a single component or easily separable parts.
Ease of Use and Accessibility: Include ergonomic features, visual/tactile indicators, and audible feedback (e.g., a "click" sound).
Cost Optimization: Efficient manufacturing and reduced secondary packaging.
Customization: Allow for branding or logo integration.
Airtight Seal: Ensure an airtight closure.

🎁 Benefits

Main Award:

€5000 for the winning design.

Extra Award (Option Right Fee):

€2000 for the purchase of licenses for non-winning proposals that meet the Sponsor's criteria.

The selection of the winner will be based on originality, feasibility, and alignment with the contest brief.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Open to designers and creative talents of any nationality aged 18 years or older.
Participation is free of charge.
Participants may submit one or more projects.
Only projects uploaded on the Desall website through the contest's dedicated upload page will be accepted.

The selection of the winner by the Sponsor will be the result of an unquestionable evaluation and it will take into account originality, feasibility and consistency of submitted projects with the presented brief.

Throughout the duration of the option right, the Sponsor offers an additional opportunity to all participants by setting the compensation of €2000 for the purchase of the licence for the economic exploitation of projects not recognized as winning proposals.
