Applications are now open for the 2026 Dalai Lama Fellows Program. This prestigious fellowship supports young change-makers in addressing global challenges through locally adapted solutions.

📖 About Dalai Lama Fellows

Founded in 2010 with the inspiration and encouragement of the 14th Dalai Lama, Dalai Lama Fellows reimagines leadership by cultivating and supporting an international movement of young change-makers. Fellows work on addressing critical needs such as:

Health and well-being
Education
Environmental sustainability
Cultural understanding
Human rights

The program is non-sectarian and inclusive of all backgrounds.

Selected fellows will receive:

Immersion in the distinctive yearlong Head, Heart, Hands online leadership curriculum.
One-on-one and small-group coaching to support personal development and leadership in social innovation work.
Participation in the Contemplative Leadership Assembly with Fellows from around the world and dynamic faculty.
Lifelong affiliation in the global learning community and support system.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Dalai Lama Fellows Program, applicants must:

Be aged 20-36 years old as of April 1, 2026.
Have fluency in written and spoken English.
Be currently engaged with or have well-articulated plans for a social change project and sustained engagement throughout the fellowship year.
- Preference is given to applicants with ongoing projects, but candidates with a concrete vision and plans to launch during the fellowship year may also be considered.
Possess in-depth knowledge of the community and the issue the project seeks to address, ideally with at least one year of previous experience working with the community.
Show interest in learning and engaging in contemplative practices throughout the year.
Commit to participating in all dimensions of the program, including:
- Online learning platform
- 1-on-1 coaching calls
- Group learning calls
- Estimated time commitment: 12 hours per month (excluding work on the project).
Attend the Contemplative Leadership Assembly in May 2026 (all costs for travel, lodging, and meals will be covered by DLF).
