Opportunity Overview

The Climate Action Against Disinformation (CAAD) Fellowship supports grassroots organizers from the Global South who have experienced the impacts of online climate disinformation in their territories. This fellowship provides an opportunity to explore these issues more deeply through research and storytelling.

📜 About the Fellowship

Between June and December 2025, selected fellows will conduct localized research on specific cases of climate disinformation in their communities. Fellows will receive guidance and mentorship from the CAAD research team and Roots.

The program begins with a one-week intensive training to build shared research skills among participants.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be based in a Global South country or part of a diaspora community in the Global North.
  • Have a record of organizing around climate and/or democracy issues.
  • Have experience in storytelling.

🗓️ Application Timeline and Process

  • Fellowship Start Date: Monday, July 7, 2025
  • Draft Research Report Deadline: Tuesday, September 30, 2025
  • Final Report Deadline: Friday, October 24, 2025

The findings will be presented at COP30 in Belem at CAAD's countering climate disinformation hub.
