The CERN Openlab Summer Student Programme 2026 is a paid nine-week summer programme at CERN in Geneva, designed for bachelorās and masterās students in computer scienceārelated fields.

This programme offers students the opportunity to work on advanced computing projects at CERN, gaining hands-on experience in a world-renowned research environment.

- 93 CHF per calendar day subsistence allowance (tax-free).
- Coverage under CERNās health insurance scheme (unless funded directly by a national agency).
- Travel expenses to Geneva covered depending on circumstances.
- Access to an extensive physics lecture programme and IT lectures.
- Assistance with finding accommodation on or near CERNās site.
ā CERN Openlab Summer Programme Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Open to Bachelorās and Masterās students (not PhD candidates).
- Must have completed at least 6 semesters (3 years) of full-time studies in computing-related fields.
- Cannot have worked at CERN for more than 3 months or participated in the programme before.
- Must have good knowledge of English.
- Must remain enrolled as a full-time student until the start of the programme.
- All nationalities are welcome to apply.
