ā Eligibility Criteria
General Admissions Policy
- Admissions requirements adhere to CEUās policy; individual units may have additional criteria, including specific academic backgrounds or higher language test scores than the CEU minimum.
- Only currently enrolled students are eligible to apply for advanced certificate programs.
Bachelorās Program Eligibility
- Completion of secondary education (high school diploma or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Applicants must provide documentation confirming that they will earn such a degree before enrolling in a CEU bachelorās program.
Masterās Program Eligibility
- A first degree (bachelorās or equivalent) from a recognized university.
- For two-year masterās programs, applicants must earn at least 180 ECTS credits or equivalent.
- For one-year masterās programs, applicants must have earned a minimum of 240 ECTS credits or equivalent.
- Exceptional cases: Applicants with a three-year bachelorās degree (180 ECTS credits) may be admitted to one-year masterās programs but might face limitations for doctoral studies in the European Higher Education Area if they have fewer than 300 ECTS credits.
- Students must not be enrolled in another institution during their CEU studies unless they have official documentation of a leave of absence from the other institution.
Doctoral Program Eligibility
- A bachelorās degree (or equivalent) and a masterās degree (or equivalent) in a related field from a recognized university.
- Applicants with a five-year masterās degree are exempt from the bachelorās requirement.
- The Department of Cognitive Science may consider applicants with only a bachelorās degree if it is closely associated with cognitive science.
- Students must not be simultaneously enrolled in other institutions during their doctoral studies at CEU.
Language Requirements
- All programs at CEU are conducted in English.
- Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through standardized test scores.
- Candidates whose first language is English are typically exempt from this requirement.
