Here’s what you can expect as a Fellow:

  • Coaching:
    Receive personalized one-on-one coaching from experienced leaders to help you navigate challenges, refine strategies, and build leadership skills.

  • Capital:
    Fellows receive $40,000 in capital.

    • For-profits and hybrids: SAFE note or alternative funding vehicle.
    • Nonprofits and schools: Unrestricted grants.
  • Connections:
    Expand your network through connections with potential partners, funders, and supporters. Engage with investors, participate in virtual workshops, and collaborate with industry experts.

  • Community:
    Join a diverse cohort of changemakers committed to addressing inequities. Share experiences, challenges, and insights through cohort-based learning.

  • Curriculum:
    Engage in a strategic curriculum tailored to early-stage social entrepreneurs. Topics include:

    • Hiring and managing teams
    • Project and budget management
    • Pitch readiness
    • Stakeholder management

This program includes an in-person kick-off and closing week, along with virtual programming in between. Key dates for travel and programming will be announced prior to Fellow selection.

βœ… Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the CamelBack Ventures Fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be over the age of 18.
  • Commit approximately 10 hours per week for 16 weeks to Fellowship activities.
  • Hold a leadership role (Founder, Co-founder, CEO, or Executive Director) in their venture.
  • Reside in the United States or a U.S. Territory.
  • Have proficiency in English.

Note: Fellows are not required to relocate. The program encourages participants to stay and serve their communities.

πŸ“ Application Process

The application process involves two key rounds designed to assess your venture and potential for impact.

Round 1: Written & Video Questions

  1. Submit the Written Application:

    • Short-answer questions about your venture and yourself as a founder.
    • Longer, in-depth responses about your venture model and approach.
  2. Video Submissions:

    • Submit 1-2 videos, including a 3-minute pitch explaining your vision and what drives your work.
  3. Evaluation:

    • Applications will be reviewed by a team of evaluators.
    • About 15% of applicants will be selected as Finalists.
    • Non-advancing applicants can receive personalized feedback.

Round 2: Virtual Interview

  1. 75-Minute Video Call:

    • Conducted by CamelBack team members, alumni, stakeholders, and coaches.
    • Topics include:
      • Leadership skills and mindset.
      • Understanding of target market and revenue model.
      • Social impact goals.
  2. Preparation Support:

    • CamelBack provides resources to help you prepare for the interview.

Final Deliberation

  • The team evaluates all applications to select up to 16 Fellows.
  • Non-selected candidates can receive feedback to refine their ventures and future applications.
