π About Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund
The Ecosystem Fund is part of Canadaβs Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP). It supports Black-led not-for-profit organizations that provide business services such as:
- Mentorship
- Training
- Networking
- Outreach
- Capacity building
The goal is to strengthen the Black entrepreneurship ecosystem and contribute to a stronger Canadian economy.

π Benefits of Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund
- Funding Amount: Between $125,000 and a maximum of $3 million per project in non-repayable contribution funding.
β Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund Requirements
Eligible Organizations:
- Incorporated not-for-profit organizations in Canada or Ontario that operate in southern Ontario and primarily focus on supporting businesses and/or community economic development.
- Black-led not-for-profit organizations that demonstrate the following criteria:
- Leadership Composition: Minimum two-thirds of leadership positions (directors, founders, etc.) occupied by individuals who self-identify as Black.
- Governance Structure: A governance structure (volunteer committee, advisory board, eldership circle, etc.) composed primarily of individuals who self-identify as Black (minimum two-thirds of positions).
- Mandate and Activities: Focused on supporting members of Black communities.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver business support services and reach the Black community.
