The British Association for International and Comparative Education (BAICE) is now accepting applications for its Compare Fellowship 2026–2027. This prestigious fellowship offers a unique opportunity for early-career researchers in the field of education to engage in academic activities in the UK.

📖 About BAICE Compare Fellowship

Compare is a leading journal of international and comparative education, publishing eight issues annually. It features high-quality articles on diverse educational policy and practice issues worldwide. It is the official journal of the British Association for International and Comparative Education (BAICE), which supports research, teaching, and collaboration in the field of education.

The fellowship provides full funding to enable the fellow to participate in key academic activities in the UK. This includes:

• Attendance and presentation at the UKFIET Conference (details to be confirmed).
• Participation in the Compare Writers’ Workshop, a full-day training designed for early-career researchers.
• A 1–2 week academic residency in the UK, which includes:
  • Conducting library-based research.
  • Attending seminars and academic events.
  • Collaborating with scholars and mentors.
  • Developing ideas for publication.

All major costs are covered, including travel, accommodation, conference registration, and subsistence.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the BAICE Compare Fellowship, applicants must:

• Be currently based at a university in a low-income country (as per World Bank classification).
• Have completed their doctoral degree within the last six years.
• Be teaching or researching in the field of education.

📝 Application Process

Applicants must send the following documents via email to compare@baice.ac.uk:

1. CV / Resume (maximum 3 pages) including qualifications, professional experience, and publications.
2. Supporting Statement (maximum 1200 words) addressing the following:
   • Research Profile: Outline your research interests, publication trajectory, and future research plans.
   • Indicative Conference Presentation: Provide exploratory ideas for a potential presentation, including:
     • Proposed topic or research question.
     • Theoretical or conceptual framing.
     • Methodological approach (e.g., data sources, methods, or research design).
     • Potential contribution or significance of the work.
   • Fellowship Impact: Reflect on the potential benefits of the fellowship for yourself, your institution, and/or your country.

If contact has already been made with a potential institution or mentor in the UK, this should be mentioned. However, prior arrangements are not mandatory, as support will be provided.
