Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation Innovation and Technology Scholarships
The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), will provide graduate scholarships to train 120 young African professionals at the masterβs level for various programs over 5 years (2025β2030). This is a fully immersive and traditional on-campus 2-year masterβs program with an emphasis on technology and innovation. The program aims to equip African youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead in areas such as technology and sustainable innovation.

Available Scholarships
For the 2026/2027 academic year, 30 scholarships are available. These scholarships will cover:
- Full tuition fees
- Accommodation expenses
- Comprehensive support for the 2-year graduate program

- Events and programming as part of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU
Scholars will have the opportunity to:
- Work part-time in on-campus positions
- Participate in a 2-month internship between the first and second year, aligned with their program of study

β Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Academic Qualifications: Must qualify academically for admission to the degree of their choice, including English proficiency.
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of an African country committed to ethical leadership and demonstrated engagement in their community.
- Age: Must be between 18 and 33 years old on or before the application deadline.
- Leadership and Service: Must demonstrate a track record of leadership and service in their community.
- Academic Excellence: Must demonstrate academic excellence and ambitions that exceed one's financial resources.
- Undergraduate Degree: Must have earned an undergraduate degree conferred by August 2026.
- Graduate Studies: Must not have started or completed other graduate or masterβs degrees before August 2026.
- Residency: Must be able to live in Phoenix, Arizona for the duration of the program.

Important Notes
- Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 23:59 GMT on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.
- Admission Process: Applicants must first apply for the scholarship. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for an interview via video or phone call. Final scholarship decisions will be made by February 2026.
- Program Start: Successful applicants will travel to Phoenix, Arizona to join the program in August 2026.
