📖 About the Program

The AcademyHealth Applied Implementation Science Fellowship Program is a two-year program designed to train early and mid-career researchers working within health care delivery systems. The program focuses on applying implementation science (IS) theory and methods to health system-based research programs.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Background:

    • Must hold an advanced degree in a relevant health field (e.g., M.D., D.O., PharmD, Nursing Ph.D.) or health services research-related field (e.g., Ph.D., Sc.D., DrPH).
  2. Employment:

    • Must be currently employed by a health care delivery system (e.g., hospitals, clinics, or practices) or a similar setting.
    • The employer must commit to protecting the applicant’s time to meet all program requirements during the fellowship period.
    • Must hold a permanent position within the organization. Individuals in time-limited roles (e.g., postdoctoral training positions) are not eligible.
  3. Experience or Interest in Specific Therapeutic Areas:

    • Bone health (e.g., osteoporosis)
    • Severe uncontrolled asthma (with or without associated COPD)
    • Thyroid eye disease
    • IgG4-related conditions
  4. Residency and Work Authorization:

    • Must be based in and legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship program.
    • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
