🌟 About Akademie Schloss Solitude Residential Fellowships

The Solitude Fellowship by Akademie Schloss Solitude provides space for concentrated work, interdisciplinary exchange, and international networking. These fellowships contribute to an open, diverse, and globally connected cultural landscape in Baden-Württemberg and Germany.

The fellowship is open-ended in terms of results but offers opportunities for on-site events, including collaborations with other cultural institutions in Stuttgart and the region.

The fellowship includes:

A 6- or 9-month residency in Stuttgart.
A monthly fellowship of €1,300.
A furnished live/work studio, including utilities.
A one-time travel allowance for arrival and departure.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Open to individuals with 2 to 10 years of independent practice after completing their training.
Collectives of up to two people may apply, provided they have been working together for at least two years.
Not eligible:
- Applicants still in training or studies (except for PhD candidates).
- Those holding a permanent professorship.
Working languages: German and/or English (house language: English).

📅 Application Date and Process

Stage 1: Open Short Application (Online)

Dates: October 15 – November 14, 2025.
Applications are submitted via the online application platform.
Deadline: November 14, 2025, 6 PM CET.
An anonymous random selection procedure will be used in areas with a high number of applications to ensure fair pre-selection.

All applicants will be notified via email whether they are admitted to the second stage.

Stage 2: Full Application (Online)

Dates: November 24 – December 19, 2025.
Admitted applicants may submit a full application via the platform.
Deadline: December 19, 2025, 6 PM CET.
