The AIPH World Green City Awards is the first and only global awards program for cities where plants and nature are the core focus. This biennial competition recognizes the efforts of city authorities in promoting and supporting the inclusion of plants and nature in urban environments.

The awards aim to champion ambitious, nature-oriented approaches to city design and operation. They celebrate public initiatives that rely on plants and nature to create better urban environments, fostering economic, social, and environmental resilience.
Building on the success of previous editions, the 2026 Awards will highlight inspiring initiatives such as:
- Chengdu, China's "Urban Green Heart Programme" (2024)
- City of Hyderabad, India's "Green Garland to the State of Telangana" (2022)

Awards are offered in seven categories, with three finalists and one category winner selected in each. Additionally, a Grand Winner will be chosen from the seven category winners.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
To participate, cities must meet the following requirements:

Submission by a City Authority Representative
- Submissions must be compiled and submitted by a suitable representative acting on behalf of the city authority.
- The city authority is the legally defined and nationally recognized local or subnational government authority responsible for governing and implementing strategic policy within its jurisdiction.

Representative Requirements
- The representative must be a technical or political staff member or official from the Mayor's or executive officer's office or a relevant department.
- The submission must include a Mayoral Declaration, signed and stamped by an authorized signatory (e.g., Mayor, Deputy-Mayor, or senior political representative).

Submission Deadline
- All entries must be submitted on or before October 19, 2025.

Cities must register a profile on the entry submission portal. -
Complete the Online Entry Form
- The form must be completed in English and includes questions aligned with the judging criteria.
- Supporting evidence such as images, videos, publications, and letters of support can be included.

- Ensure all required documents, including the Mayoral Declaration, are submitted before the deadline.
