π About the AIG Visiting Fellowship Programme
The AIG Visiting Fellowship is awarded to exceptional Nigerian public sector executives who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and made significant contributions to the public sector. It allows these outstanding leaders to deepen their knowledge and understanding of critical public policy challenges facing Nigeria.
The programme is designed for visionary reformers who demonstrate integrity, innovation, and measurable results in governance, public policy, or service delivery. Through access to Oxfordβs academic resources and global networks, Fellows are equipped to explore complex governance challenges, refine their reform ideas, and develop practical solutions that strengthen institutions and enhance public sector performance in Nigeria.

β Eligibility Criteria
Position/Level:
- Must hold a position within the leadership cadres of Director Generals and Chief Executive Officers in the Public Service.
Service Longevity:
- Minimum of six years before mandatory retirement age.
Demonstrated Leadership:
- Must demonstrate measurable impact in public service delivery within the past five years.
- Must provide quantifiable evidence of implementing successful reforms or improvements in their area of responsibility.
Strategic Influence:
- Must oversee strategic initiatives in at least one of the following key sectors:
- Health
- Education
- Agriculture
- Finance
- Energy
- Justice
- Defence
- Security
- Demonstrate experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
Educational Qualification:
- Minimum of a masterβs degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Evidence of continuous professional development in the last three years.
Organisational Endorsement:
- Must obtain formal endorsement from a respected Public Sector Leader (e.g., Head of the Civil Service, Minister, Governor, etc.).
Ethical Standing:
- No pending disciplinary actions.
- Clean and outstanding record of service.
- Must pass security clearance.
