✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship:
    • Only United States citizens or permanent residents are eligible for USDA NIFA funds.
    • Non-US citizens, especially Cornell CALS students, may be eligible for funding from other sources.
  • Age: Must be 18 years of age by June 2026.
  • Education:
    • Must have completed two, and preferably three, years of college-level study in one of the life sciences by June 2026.
    • Must be enrolled in and have at least one semester remaining in an undergraduate program in the life sciences or other relevant fields (e.g., engineering and computer science) as of July 2026.
