Action Through Enterprise (ATE) is excited to launch a new round of businesses in Lawra Municipality. This summer, applications are open for committed and hardworking entrepreneurs to join their enterprise programme, BizATE.

💼 Types of Grants

Small Business Owner Grant

ATE will support skilled and committed business owners in the Lawra Municipality with:

Small grants
Monthly mentoring
Regular commercial skills training

Successful candidates will have existing businesses they wish to grow and develop. Graduated VocATE apprentices are also invited to apply.

Eligibility Criteria for Small Business Owner Grant

You have a skill that adds value to a product (e.g., vocational qualification).
Basic technical business skills.
A business plan demonstrating potential profitability.
Future capacity to train apprentices or staff.
Commitment to the business and local area.
Dedication to improving life for family and community.

Entrepreneurial Acceleration Programme

This new scheme is aimed at exciting businesses that offer employment, training, profits, and create significant ripple effects. It provides:

Larger funding
Targeted mentoring

Eligibility Criteria for Entrepreneurial Acceleration Programme

Business is already profitable.
Strong understanding of technical business skills.
Solid business plan showing growth phase.
Currently employing or training others, with plans to employ more.
Significant ripple effect of the business.
Innovation and environmental impacts (desirable but not compulsory).
Ethical employer.

✅ Requirements

To qualify for the programme, you must:

Not be in employment where you take a salary from any private or government organisation.
Work and live within Lawra District.
Be ready to work hard and commit to training, mentoring, and monitoring from ATE.

📅 Application Date and Process

To apply for either of these grants:

Visit the ATE Office and Inclusion Centre (opposite Lawra Fire Service) to pick up an application form.
Soft copies are available upon request from the Inclusion Centre.
