The AAAS-TWAS Science Diplomacy training program was established in 2014 to expose scientists, decision-makers, diplomats, and other stakeholders to science diplomacy concepts. It explores key contemporary international policy issues related to science, technology, environment, and health, while building a skillset for careers at the intersection of science and diplomacy.

- Limited slots are available for self-supported participants (mainly from high-income countries). These participants cover their own costs except for meals and local transport in Trieste.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applications must be submitted as participant pairs:

Participant 1:
- An Early-Career Scientist with a PhD (preferably ≤40 years old).
- Research should be relevant to international policymaking.

Participant 2:
- A Decisionmaker such as a government official, policymaker, diplomat, civil servant, funding institution representative, or staff/expert in an international organization.
- No age or PhD requirement.
