The 'A' Award Grant Program supports early career scientists in establishing independent research careers focused on improving treatments and finding cures for childhood cancers. The program provides substantial funding and mentorship to help investigators launch innovative, original research projects in pediatric oncology.

• Annual Budget: A maximum of $200,000 USD in total costs may be requested per year.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be affiliated with nonprofit institutions in the U.S. or Canada.
• Hold one of the following degrees: MD, PhD, MD/PhD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent.
• Be within five years of their first Assistant Professor appointment.
• For MD/MD-PhD applicants: Be within 10 years of terminal degree or clinical training.
• For PhD applicants: Be within 10 years of terminal degree.
• Instructor-level applicants must have confirmed plans to become an Assistant Professor within one year of receiving the award.

📅 Application Process

Steps to Apply

1. Navigate to Proposal Central and select "I am an Applicant."
   • ORCID Registrants: You can log in using your ORCID. If you don't have one, register at ORCID. An ORCID is required for this application.
2. After logging in, navigate to the Grant Opportunities tab and search for "Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation" in the search bar to find active grant application cycles.
3. Click the "Apply Now" button to start an application.
4. Upload the application document as one PDF (maximum of 20 MB) in the Attachments tab. Follow the guidelines for specific format and section instructions.
5. Save your application to finish later by clicking "Save".
   • To return to your application, navigate to the Proposals tab and filter by Proposal Status. Click "In Progress" to access existing applications.
6. Once completed, click "Submit". You will receive a confirmation email within 10 minutes.
   • If needed, you may unsubmit your application to make changes by clicking the "Unsubmit" button in the Proposals tab (as long as the deadline has not passed).
