This program will select six newsrooms in 2026, with additional cohorts to be selected in 2027 and 2028.

🎁 Benefits of Documented Media Training

  • $10,000 Stipend: Each selected newsroom will receive a stipend to launch their editorial product.
  • Final Investment Round: Participants will have the opportunity to receive additional funds for further development.
  • Community of Practice: At the end of the program, participants will join a community to receive ongoing support, peer advice, and contribute to the growing field of community-driven journalism.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

The program is open to:

  1. Newsrooms of any business model (nonprofit, for-profit, community-based, or university-affiliated) that demonstrate a commitment to serving immigrant communities or community-driven journalism.
  2. Reporters, producers, editors, and managers working in any newsroom in the United States and its territories who are committed to better serving immigrant communities.
  3. Staffing Requirements:
    • One full-time employee must be available to participate in the virtual weekly sessions.
    • One part-time or full-time employee must be dedicated to supporting project development, fundraising, and sustainability.
