The program is designed to meet the needs of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and all healthcare professionals dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients with cardiovascular disease in the primary care setting.

Course Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Integrate lifestyle interventions useful for managing obesity, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Summarize the indications for intervention in patients with structural heart disease.
  • Identify contemporary indications for implantable cardiac defibrillator therapy.
  • Summarize management principles for patients with atrial fibrillation.
  • Recognize the role of point-of-care ultrasound in cardiac patients.
